Happy Birthday Uncle Josh!

Love, Noah and Reese

My New Awesome Job!

I am not sure if many people know this about me but I am a bit obsessed with children’s books. A bit might be an understatement if you question my husband or my parents! I love books! One of my favorite activities is visiting flea markets and yard sales so that I can find precious books to fill my library! I collect mostly chapter books that appeal to girls, mostly ones that I loved as a young girl. Babysitter’s Club, Sweet Vally High, Boxcar Children, Nancy Drew and Disney Books are taking up my storage area currently until we finish my bookcases. My problem, I have mostly girl books and God gave me a sweet boy! Missing from my collection are books that Reese can enjoy now like board books. We received some through a baby shower but he definitely needs more! I tell you all of this because it will help you understand  my excitement!

The fabulous Matt and Joanna Black came down to perform a concert at my brother, Jake’s church. They stayed at my house and that Saturday morning Joanna came into the dinning room with a smile on her face. She had noticed the box of Babysitter’s Club books in the guest room and then noticed our huge collection of books. (Rich loves books too) She then told me about a company she is selling books for and I fell in love as I looked at her books. The best part, you can earn free books and make a little money! I signed up and received my books and I love them! The company is Usborne & Kane Miller Books. They carry everything from board books to homeschool curriculum. I would like to share my books with all my friends! You can check out the fabulous books by visiting my website at www.myubam.com/M3930

I would like to invite all of you to my Launch Show. I will be showcasing some wonderful children’s books and showing you how you can earn free and discounted books! Plus, I will have some yummy food for you to enjoy as I introduce you to this company. I look forward to seeing you!

And the Worst Mommy Award Goes to…..ME!

Today is work day at our house. We are replacing the carpet with laminate floors.  This morning, Rich, me and one of our church members were cleaning out rooms so we could pull up the carpet. Of course, I was also managing Reese. He has been quite fussy with an ear infection for about a week now so I was dealing with my crying child but still trying to work. I went into the guest room and placed him in the middle of the bed with his Pooh Bear and he was content. I turned around to open the closet door, like half a second, and when I glanced back my child dived off the bed. His face hit the ground, then the rest of his head followed by his body. It happened so fast! I couldn’t catch him and I screamed and grabbed him up as Rich ran to the room. I’m not sure who was crying louder, Reese or me! Then I saw blood come from his mouth and I really freaked out. The fall was the worse thing I have ever witnessed. I honestly thought Reese had broken his neck. Which would have meant I screwed up by grabbing him up off the floor. I know it must sound like I am exaggerating, but at that moment I thought my son was dead. I have never been so thankful to hear him cry. So Rich calmly told me to go put him in the car and somehow managed to get him in his car seat.  I cried the whole way to the emergency room and at the emergency room and as we were leaving the emergency room. Let’s just say, my eyes were quite puffy. I have never felt so guilty in my entire life! After an hour and half of Reese screaming, I was allowed to feed him and he feel asleep. I just laid beside him on the er cot staring at my sweet baby boy. The Dr said he looked perfect except for a busted lip. His x-rays were fine.  Praise God! Our sweet church member, Nina, went to her parents and her and her mom began to pray. I am so thankful for my church family! Nina witnessed the horrible tumble and she was quite nervous about Reese. I am not sure I will ever stop feeling guilty. I have had a few people tell me that their child has taken a nose dive and I am just hoping one day when Reese is 20 I don’t start crying when this story surfaces. Right now, I am wondering if I will get over it. Sometimes, I am so thankful that babies don’t remember being babies. Especially the first child! My baby is now sleeping soundly and I am still a little shaken even after a long day of work. Praying that tomorrow I feel a little bit more peaceful and that when the story is told at the church house, I don’t revisit my melt down. Oh the many adventures of being a first time parent. If you want to share a “fall” story, feel free to do so. Maybe knowing I am not the only one who looked away for a second and regretted it forever will help my poor broken heart. I am however, so thankful that he only had a busted lip. He doesn’t even have any bruises yet. Praise God!

The Adventures of Reese and Noah

My sister-in-law, Diana, decided to get a job and has entrusted me and Rich with Noah. The first week was full of the boys making each other cry by hitting and taking toys. But I think they secretly are ganging up on me! They are pooping at the same time, waking up from nap around the same time, and now they have ear infections together. Man, are these boys going to be close! They are both mobile now so we have to catch Noah sometimes. Reese hasn’t figured out that he can go anywhere yet. When he does, I have a feeling I will get some exercise between to the two of them. Their favorite game is taking each other’s pacifiers. The prize is making the other one cry. It is quite funny to watch them play around each other. Here are a few pictures I took during the first week.

This is my favorite so far. And this is how I tried to keep them apart one day as they just kept hitting each other with toys.

And this is how we take a toy from one another. I actually have quite a few pictures of this entertaining activity!

And sometimes they attack each other. Once Noah tried to bite Reese’s head and they have taken turns biting each other’s butt. Yes, I enjoy watching these two silly boys all day!

4th of July

Me and my cousin, Noah looking cute in our festive onesies and bibs from Grammy.

Diana is telling Noah, Be nice to Reese. We are laughing.

Time to cool off! We love our cousin time!
