I had so much fun planning Reese’s Birthday party! Rich thought I went a little overboard but like my daddy always said, ” Birthdays are the only holidays that celebrate you!” I was just celebrating Reese! We had a huge turn out! The fellowship hall was packed!I had lots of help to make my little man’s day special. My Mother in Law made his beautiful cake, Rich made Reese’s smash cake and helped decorate, Jake and Diana provided the balloons and helped decorate, and my mom kept the boys so we all could work. It was perfect! And of course, the pictures were provided by Diana!

Vaca and a Free Movie…Yes Please!

After spending a wonderful, relaxing week in Jacksonville at Laney and Craig’s we rushed to Pensacola last night to drop off the crying baby and go see a free movie. The Wow radio station offered free movie tickets for church staff to see the movie Courageous. Courageous is the new movie coming out next weekend from Sherwood Baptist Church that created Fireproof and Facing the Giants. When one of our friends told Rich about the free tickets we thought, free date night, yes please! We got in Pensacola around 5:30, left the crying Reese with the parents, and ran out the door to get to the Rave. I didn’t realize until we arrived at the theater that the radio station had rented out the theater for the night. We were pretty impressed! But more impressed by the movie. I honestly wasn’t expecting to love the movie. Don’t get me wrong, I thought their past movies were good but like most Christian movies, a low budget and the goal to not show anything real makes for a cheesy product. I liked Facing the Giants but the acting wasn’t awesome and Fireproof was much better but sometimes they seemed a little cheesy. So last night my expectations were pretty low. I knew I would enjoy the movie but I was quite blown away. I have to encourage you to go next weekend and see Courageous. It was funny and moving at the same time. It is the best movie they have produced yet! The acting, style, and storyline were way better. Let’s just say that I loved this movie! So thank you Wow for allowing us to have a sneak preview of this movie. I hope it does well in the box office next weekend. If you are a father, this movie is a must for you! Just a little warning, it is rated PG13. So you might want to watch it before you take the kiddos along. I think the rating is what helped the movie out but the drug use and violence might be too much for young children.
