Diana, Jake, and Noah came to visit us a week ago and of course Diana took some pictures of Reese while she was here. She emailed me the pictures last night and as I was looking through them this morning, I laughed when I saw this picture. This is what Reese has looked like for the last five days or so. Apparently, I have a fussy baby with really great lungs! Rich and I are exhausted! We are learning tricks to calm him down, like patting him on his butt. For some reason, that is how we can get him to sleep. Rich resorted to a hair dryer noise that Diana and Jake use with Noah. The sound drives me crazy and I refused to use it until 4am this morning when I got desperate! We have gone through five different pacifiers to find one he can keep in his mouth, this week he changed which one he likes on us! But even with the crying, when his little eyes look at me, I melt. Every now and then he smiles for us and we get so excited. I am sure it’s just gas but it sure makes me feel good! And my favorite thing he does so far, is grabbing my fingers. Oh I just love it! Diana captured a picture of that for me too! ( I know you are all jealous that I have a personal photographer for my child! And you should be!)
Isn’t that sweet! We have survived the first four weeks of parenthood. We are sleep deprived and our house is a mess at all times. (Unless, the moms are here!) Sometimes I cry when Reese cries and sometimes I just stare at him in disbelief that all of this is real. I never knew I could love something so much! I am praying that the fussiness passes and soon. But having him in my arms makes me forget about the crying…for a few seconds anyways!
He’s absolutely precious! God couldn’t have given him to better parents
Praying the fussiness goes away soon and you can get some rest…in the meantime…enjoy every minute =)
Reece is so precious. I am praying for you guys. Having a newborn is hard sometimes, but so worth it. We’ve gotten out the vacuum cleaner and turned it on for some “white noise”. It seems to work pretty good. Take care and we will see you soon.
Reese is so cute..I love the pic of him holding your finger..We will be praying for Reese to smile more and cry less so ya’ll can get some rest. I cannot wait to be able to see him in person..You are blessed to have Diana to take pics for your baby boy because she is an awesome photographer…
He is a beautiful baby and you are a wonderful Mommie. Just remember…This too shall pass.
