Wednesday we went in for an ultrasound to see how big Reese is. When the nurse told me he weighed in at 9 lbs 6 oz, I wanted to cry! Then she measured his head and it was off the charts! She couldn’t be positive about his weight because his head was so big! So there is a possibility that Reese is bigger than 9lbs! When we saw the Dr, I still had not began to dilate yet and she began to go over “options” about birth. She went over the risks of having a large baby but still gave me hope about being successful. She told us to think about a C-Section but never really told us what to do. She scheduled us another appointment for yesterday but it was with one of the other Doctors. Of course, I still had not progressed and the Dr told me it didn’t look like I would. She then told me the risks of going into labor and that even if they induced me, I had a huge possibility of ending up with a C-Section.
So the big news, We are scheduled to have a C-Section on Wednesday, January 12th. I have to be at the hospital at 6:30am and I should be taken into surgery by 9:30. I am extremely nervous and a little sad that I won’t experience labor but in the end all I want is a healthy baby. So just a few more days and I will be able to introduce you to my son! How exciting!
