Wednesday night after church, a young man entered the building asking for the pastor. So Rich introduced himself and the man proceeded to telling us his story. Him, his girlfriend, and another couple were on a bike trip. No not motorcycles, actual bicycles! One couple had left from Oregon, they met up with him in Texas and then met his girlfriend in Baton Rouge. They were on there way towards Alabama. It was getting dark and they knew it was going to rain so they were looking for a dry place to pitch their tents. So we showed them the canopy between our two buildings where they were welcome to set up their tents. Rich and I stayed and talked to them for awhile when we finally invited them over for dinner.
They accepted and we all ate pizza together. It was strange inviting complete strangers into our home but they turned out to be really nice people. Since they have been on the road for so long, they had really interesting stories to share. Of course we weren’t brave enough to invite them to spend the night but I am so glad that we had them over for dinner. It reminded me not to be so judgmental of people who are doing things that I find strange. At first glance I wouldn’t have given them the time of day but they were cool people and I feel blessed to have met them. Just thought someone might enjoy this story:)
Fun Times.
