So I will probably be killed for writing about my date but it was so sweet that I have to blog. It was all a big secret. I love surprises! I was told to wear a dress but comfortable shoes. So I took that as no heels. I was picked up and he was wearing a tie, so sweet, and he brought me candy corn. That was so much better than flowers! (Well, until I gain a million pounds from the evil candy.) We went Uptown and ate at Canons. It was a really nice restaurant. We ate fried eggplant sticks and I had a fried chicken salad. It was so yummy. My date had spent so much time with Nikki trying to plan the perfect date. He even had everything printed out from an email that I am guessing Nikki had sent him. It was so cute!
The plan was to eat and then ride the trolley. Then we were to drive to the French Quarter and ride the ferry and then end up somewhere for dessert. Well, let’s just say the written itinerary didn’t quite work out. We ended up getting lost somehow or another. I can use the excuse that I always get lost but I think he was totally not paying attention. I think we ended up driving around for a couple of hours! Although I don’t think either of us really realized how long we had been in the car. You know me, I can talk forever! So then it was late and I was tired and the date ended. I totally had a great time and think he is the sweetest guy ever:) Not many guys would take so much time in trying to plan the perfect date. And it was the perfect date! And I am smiling as I blog:)
…and I am smiling as I read.
I do think it’s a little funny that you didn’t reveal the name of your date. Is it a secret? Maybe your date should start a blog, too. I’d like to hear his side of the story.
i want to know who this mystery date is too!
Jennie, this is Richard’s friend Alan. I’m glad your date went so well. I hope to meet you soon. And I’m really happy for you both.

Hmm…what will the next installment of Just Jennie bring us? Candy Corn and now a fantastic date? I’m on pins and needles.
I just thought it added a little fun to the blog to keep my date’s name a secret…but I do think my “mystery” man should start a blog too. I would enjoy reading his story about our date:) Jen, I am so glad you are enjoying my blogs;)
