My childhood dream come true!

This past weekend, my childhood fantasy turned into reality! I finally got to see New Kids On The Block in concert! I know I am such a dork! My friends, Tia and Angie, drove to Pensacola on Friday. We have been counting down the days since the beginning of August when we purchased our concert tickets. When I was eight, I feel in love with NKOTB. I honestly thought that one day I would be Mrs. Joey McIntyre. I mean, I played with his barbie everyday and I thought that qualified me as marriage material! They came to Pensacola one year, I think I was ten or eleven. My parents couldn’t afford to send me to the concert. I remember my friend’s sister had tickets and decided that she couldn’t go so she called my house to see if my parents wanted to buy the tickets for me. But we didn’t have the money. I remember being so bummed. By the time I was about twelve, the New Kids had faded and it was no longer cool for me to obsess over them.

When they released their new album this year and decided to go on tour, I think I might have screamed a little. So me and my friends decided that we would finally be able to see our favorite boy band! I have been so anxious about this concert. So when the girls got here Friday every few minutes we got really giddy about seeing our childhood crushes. Saturday, we woke up and went to the French Quarter and had New Kids On The Block t-shirts made at FunRockin. We got all dressed up in our fades from the our childhood and then left for the event of our lifetime. I even rocked the side ponytail! The entire New Orleans Arena was filled with females ranging from sixteen to fifty. Many decked out in their best 80s attire, including leg-warmers, keds, and puffy paint. When NKOTB stepped out on that stage, every woman in the arena was on her feet screaming as if she were ten again.

The boys are still really hot and man can they dance. I wasn’t expecting the concer to be very entertaining. I was excited but thought that it would just take me down memory lane. I was so wrong! It was the best concert I have ever been to. The whole show was just non-stop entertainment and energy! I really thought we wouldn’t be able to talk afterwards. To make ourselves even more dorky, we stood outside in the cold until 2:30am trying to get one more glance at the guys. We watched their buses drive away. I think we might be considered stalkers now! I had such a great weekend and I think my life is now complete;) Here a  few pictures…enjoy!
