VBS

Last week we had our Vacation Bible School. Honestly I love VBS. I look forward to it every summer. Last summer was probably the first summer that I didn’t enjoy VBS. I had a broken wrist from a car accident and then I had a sinus infection. On top of that every thing seemed to go wrong last year. This year, I was determined that this would be the best VBS ever and it was! We had over ninety children enrolled! That is amazing for our church! I never expected to have so many children! The kids were wild, loud, and filled with lots of energy and it was pure bliss! I know I am dork but I love that the idea of having our sanctuary full of loud crazy children. I was in charge of music(I know that makes me laugh too) and I taught the fifth and sixth graders. Every morning the children would pile onto the stage and I would teach them the songs and motions and can I just say that hearing children sing songs about God and His word is the beautiful sound I ever heard. There were a couple of children who would sing at the top of their lungs and although the sound was not American Idol quality, I am sure God was giving them all tens! On Friday night we had family night and we presented the Outrigger Musical for the parents. I had been working with four of the children on drama parts for a couple of weeks. It was perfect! Those kids did such a great job and I think all of the adults were surprised that I was able to pull off the musical like we did. Honestly, parents love seeing their kids sing and perform and anything they do is perfect in their eyes. It was perfect though! I also had some incredible kids in my class. We had so much fun together and I pray that they left my class with some truths that they can apply to their lives.

During this week, I also had my cousin Carson stay with me. I met Aunt Jane on Sunday and picked her up and we had a blast together. She did wear me out but every time I got tired she would do something really funny or sweet and it refreshed me. She enjoyed VBS and the ladies here in the office are really sad she is gone. Every day she had to do a dance for them in the security camera and then tell them good morning or good bye in the speaker outside. It was really cute. I am not sure how one little girl can be so creative and funny but she is. She would sit in my car and sing the songs for me. Then she would say, “Jennie did I get that song stuck in your head?” When I would say yes, she would laugh forever. So funny! I am looking forward to her visiting again! Here are a few pictures from this last week. Enjoy!

Hey Jennie, These are cute pics. You and Diana need to go into business together. Of course with a model like Carson, even I could take a good picture.

Jennie, Carson did have a wonderful time and bits and pieces of the trip are still coming out about all the things you guys did. She’s still singing and doing motions for me too. She was trying to teach Chris and Matt.. no luck there though. Chris has been carrying the little Bible you gave her around all week. It’s been everywhere with us.. except the pool. It would never survive there.
