My shopping dates…

There is a girl at my church who is thirteen. She is going into seventh grade this year and fro some strange reason she loves to hang-out with me. So every now and then we make a date and spend some time together. So yesterday was our date and she wanted to go to the mall. One of the other girls at church, twelve years old, found out and decided to go with us. So both of the girls had shopping money, a gift certificate, and then there was poor little me who bought nothing. Yes, two young girls have more money than me, the adult! Well, I was excited about wearing my new jean skirt. The very first stop was Barnes and Nobles. One of the girls had a gift certificate. I think it was her first time entering into a book store! Crazy! Right when we walked in, the sensors went off. We were met at the door by a sales associate. Of course we hadn’t even bought anything yet. Apparently, Gap and Old Navy clothes have these tags sown in that have sensors on them. So I had the store clerks going nuts the whole time we were in there. So we had to stop at Walmart and buy scissors so I could cut that tag out. I think the girls were so embarrassed! It was funny!

Of course, I felt like a mom. One of the girls mothers told me she was embarrassed to buy movies in front of me because I don’t approve of her movies. And to top that comment off, the girls just had to shop in Hollister. I despise that store. They have the raunchiest ads and they sell clothes for big prices with barely any fabric on them. One of the girls picked out a pair of shorts and looked at me trying to convince me that she will only wear them to the beach. All of the shorts and skirts there were so short. They thought I was such a dork for not wanting to shop there! I had a great time but those girls exhausted me! I think I am getting to old for this…

Oh Jennie!! Sounds like you had such a great time. Just wait till you have kids of your own. I dont like Hollister either. Their clothes are only made to fit little teens and pre-teens who really shouldn’t be wearing those clothes because of the lack of fabric. But who’s to stop them? Anyways, I look forward to playing in our last game tonight… hopefully tom wont call it because of a little rain!!! LOL See ya Later!!!
