Yesterday, after I finished everything at the church, I ventured to the beach to finish my book. It was a beautiful day! The waves were crashing and the sun was beaming down and I felt like I was in a dream until the “tourists” around me did the unthinkable. If you live in Pensacola, you know not to ever feed the birds unless you want a bird dropping shower! So there was a young family in front of me and they started feeding the birds. I was reading my book but every few minutes I was having to look over my shoulder to make sure I wasn’t gonna get pooped on. Then after they left, these young people on the other side of me started feeding the birds. Then they acted surprised when they got pooped on. I wanted to pause from my reading and yell, “Stop feeding the birds!”. But I didn’t want to be rude so I gave them my “your getting on my nerves” stare until they realized that the more they feed the birds the more poop they had dropping on them. Isn’t that common sense? The birds can get their food on their own without our help.
If you ever come to visit the beach, please don’t feed the birds! Some of us love the beach but don’t care to have a poop shower while reading our books!
Just start feeding the birds some Alkaseltzer. This will eventually get rid of the birds, not to mention a cool show for the tourists.
I think your right. Maybe the “firework show” would scare them and we would never have tourists feeding the birds again. Of course I am sure there is some type of birds right group that would sue us for endangering the special animals. But it does sound fun!

i guess it is because it is two oclock and i am trying to finish a paper for missions class but your story struck me as a great story about sharing Christ. I guess when we start feeding the brids (people) we are probably going to get pooped on some times. lol. i think i have been a baptist to long. i am quiting lifeway because of this comment. i am talking to myself. yeah. peace out.
Yes Rich, if this blog made you think of a Biblical illustration than maybe it is time to take a break from Seminary classes for a day or so…but if you would like to use this illustration in a paper I don’t charge as much as Lifeway for sermon illustrations:) LOL

Rich, you get pretty silly when you are tired…maybe you should charge for your jokes. You might make some extra cash, even if they are “crappy:
